Top Tips for Selling Cars

When selling your used car it is important that it looks its best to ensure that you get the best price. Clean it thoroughly inside and out and consider renewing the MOT, as it will prove that the car is sound and will be a good selling feature. You must make some real effort, as there are literally hundreds of thousands of used cars for sale and ensuring your vehicle stands apart from the rest could result in a quicker sale.

If you are looking for a quick sale (車を売るコツ) you should always price realistically. Check out the prices on the Internet for similar cars and make sure that you are competitively priced. Ensure that all your documents are in order and that you have the logbook, MOT certificate, service history and tax disc to produce to a potential buyer.

Be truthful and completely honest when describing the car in an advertisement. If you are selling it for spares or it needs extensive repair work then say so. Any individual that comes to view it will soon realize for himself/herself if anything is wrong and if they spot anything untoward are extremely unlikely to buy the car.

Allow for some haggling over the price. Everyone wants a good deal so make room for this in your pricing. If your buyer takes the car out for a test drive, make sure they are insured to drive other vehicles and always go with them.

Once you have agreed a sale price take the money before you hand over the car and keys, cash is always best but if you are paid by cheque make sure it clears through the bank before the buyer takes the car away. When issuing a receipt of sale include the line “sold as seen, tried and approved without guarantee.”
